After the SpaceX IPO: the SpaceX-linked products you'll find on Binance
Ask "how do I buy SpaceX on Binance?" today and you'll get a different answer than before June. With SpaceX listed on Nasdaq, three things on Binance map directly to it: SPCX shares, the SPCXB bStocks token and SPCXUSDT futures. The Wallet's SPCXx IPO was cancelled, and Pre-IPO tokens in the Wallet follow redemption rules once the company lists. This piece explains what each one is, how their rights differ and who can't use them. It doesn't tell you whether to buy.

The short version: SpaceX is now listed on Nasdaq, under the ticker SPCX. "Buying SpaceX on Binance" is no longer the pre-listing bet it used to be, so first be clear about which product you've actually opened.
On Binance, three main products now map to SpaceX: the real SPCX shares in Binance Stocks, the SPCXB bStocks token in spot, and the SPCXUSDT perpetual in futures. The names are close, but the rights are completely different: one is a stock held in custody by a broker, one is a tokenized security from an issuer, and one only tracks the price. The tokens in the Wallet's Pre-IPO section track companies that haven't listed yet; their only link to SpaceX is the question of what happens to them after the listing if you bought before it. Which of these you can use depends on where you are and whether your account is eligible.
SpaceX has listed: first, sorting out those days in June
For those few days in June, these are the events that line up with the official pages:
| When | What happened | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Before the listing | SPCXUSDT went live on Binance Futures as a Pre-IPO perpetual; Binance Wallet opened the SPCXx IPO, where users submitted subscription intents | Binance Academy; IPO FAQ |
| 2026-06-12 | Whole-share limit orders for SPCX in Binance Stocks were scheduled to start trading on this day | Binance Academy |
| 2026-06-12 15:48 (UTC) | The Wallet SPCXx IPO was announced as cancelled and locked USDC returned; the announcement still described SPCXB as coming soon to spot | Cancellation notice |
| 2026-06-12 17:00 (UTC) | The SPCXB/USDT spot trading pair went live | SPCXB listing announcement |
| 2026-06-15 13:30 (UTC) | Deposits and withdrawals opened for SPCXB | SPCXB listing announcement |
| By 2026-06-18 at the latest | The SPCXB airdrop, split equally among IPO participants, was scheduled to arrive | Cancellation notice |
According to the Academy article, SpaceX listed on Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX; the IPO raised $75 billion at $135 per share, which the Academy calls the largest IPO in history; and 30% of the IPO shares went to retail investors, compared with 5% to 10% in a typical IPO. One more line is easy to miss amid the excitement: SpaceX itself says in its prospectus that it doesn't expect to be profitable in the near term.
The cancellation notice of June 12 already stated that you could place orders for SPCX shares on Binance.
All of them in one table
The table only contains what the official pages say; where we couldn't find something, the cell reads "not stated on official pages".
| Is it equity? | Who issues / who holds custody | How you trade it | Shareholder rights | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SPCX shares (Binance Stocks) | The Academy FAQ calls it actual ownership of SpaceX equity | Nest Trading Limited routes the orders; Alpaca Securities LLC executes, clears, settles and holds custody; Binance neither handles nor holds the securities | Orders in Binance Stocks; the launch announcement described whole shares, regular hours, limit orders | The Academy FAQ says holders are shareholders of the company; the specific rights follow the product terms for securities trading |
| SPCXB (bStocks) | No; it doesn't hold shares directly | Issued by BTech Holdings Limited (a Binance Group affiliate); custodian's name not stated on official pages | Binance spot, SPCXB/USDT; deposits and withdrawals on BNB Smart Chain | No direct voting, dividend or similar rights |
| Wallet Pre-IPO tokens (general rules) | No; they only track a private company's price | Issued independently by third-party dApp providers; Binance Wallet is only the access interface | Bought with Swap inside the Wallet; can be sold 24/7 on the secondary market | No voting rights, dividends or legal ownership |
| SPCXUSDT futures | No; it's a derivative | Listed on Binance Futures; you hold a contract, not the underlying stock | Binance Futures, with leverage and shorting | None |
The easiest way to remember it is by rights: SPCX is a stock, SPCXB is a tokenized security, and Pre-IPO tokens and SPCXUSDT are both price exposure only. SPCXx isn't in the table because that campaign was cancelled and never got as far as allocation.
SPCX in Binance Stocks: you get real shares, but Binance doesn't hold them
Binance Stocks is Binance's product for trading US stocks. The cancellation notice mentions that it supports more than 7,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs, and SPCX is one of them.
The biggest difference from the other products is the custody chain. The disclosure at the end of the Academy article states that Nest Trading Limited, as introducing broker, routes securities orders to the clearing broker Alpaca Securities LLC, which executes, clears, settles and holds them in custody; Binance does not handle or hold your securities. Here Binance is closer to an order entry point, and the shares sit on the US broker's side.
The Academy article describes SPCX in two ways that don't quite line up. Its main text describes SPCX as intended to give users exposure tied to the value of SpaceX shares, subject to the product terms, eligibility requirements and jurisdictional restrictions; its FAQ, by contrast, says buying SPCX through Binance Stocks means you actually own SpaceX equity and are a shareholder of the company. Put that next to the closing disclosure (the securities are executed and held in custody by Alpaca) and the bStocks FAQ, which says you can convert back to the underlying stock if you want voting rights, and structurally these are real shares held through a broker. Whether you can get access, and exactly which rights you have, follows the product terms for securities trading.
Whole shares, regular hours and limit orders were the arrangements stated in the launch announcement, which doesn't mean they'll never change. Whether fractional shares, pre-market and after-hours trading, or market orders are available depends on the options you see when you open the order page. The Academy disclosure has one more line worth knowing: Binance may receive payment for order flow for routing orders.
What is SPCXB? It follows SpaceX, but it isn't a stock
SPCXB is the SpaceX token in the bStocks range, issued by BTech Holdings Limited. The listing announcement says the issuer is an affiliate of Binance Group, and the bStocks FAQ adds that it's a special purpose vehicle registered in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). bStocks are issued under a prospectus approved in ADGM, are not offered in any other jurisdiction, and in some jurisdictions are only made available to eligible users on a secondary-market basis.
Compared with SPCX shares, it differs in these ways:
- It isn't a stock: the announcement's disclaimer states that bStocks are not stocks or shares, holders don't directly own SpaceX shares, and a token represents an interest in the underlying securities held by the issuer.
- No direct shareholder rights: the FAQ spells out that holders get no direct voting, dividend, inspection, corporate-communication or similar rights. After withholding tax and fees are deducted, dividends are generally reinvested by the issuer, which shows up in a displayed balance adjusted by the "Multiplier".
- The price can drift from the share price: supply and demand, liquidity, US market closures and spreads can all push it to a premium or discount to the stock; while the US market is closed, the price is set by buying and selling on Binance.
- No SIPC / FDIC: the FAQ says plainly that neither of these US protections applies to bStocks.
- Different trading hours: bStocks trade 24/7 in Binance spot.
The network listed in the listing announcement is BNB Smart Chain, with the contract address 0xbe9D156892E55e7154BcD3cB0FEA677F9D3103E1. Before any transfer, go back to the official announcement and what the app shows at that moment and check it character by character; don't copy it from anywhere else. The zero maker fee promotion that came with the launch ran until 2026-08-31 and has ended.
There's one piece of wording worth comparing. When the IPO cancellation notice introduced SPCXB, it said the token is backed 1:1 by real SpaceX shares held by a regulated custodian. The bStocks FAQ is more careful: each bStock is intended to be backed by the corresponding underlying security or other eligible assets, subject to fees, taxes, securities lending, market disruptions and other conditions. The FAQ also offers a Collateral page for viewing the backing, while noting that this data has limits in how it's measured and when it's updated. When you assess the risk, go by the FAQ's more detailed wording.
For people who already hold an eligible securities position in Binance Stocks, the FAQ says you can use the Token Conversion feature to request conversion into the corresponding bStock, handled by Nest Trading Limited as dealer under the bStocks minting and redemption product terms; going the other way, if you want voting rights, you can convert back to the underlying stock. For the full set of differences between tokens and real shares, see US stock tokens vs real stock.
Pre-IPO tokens in the Wallet track companies that haven't listed yet
This is the one most easily confused with the first two, because it's also inside the Binance app and also carries a company's name. But it isn't issued by Binance.
According to the Binance Wallet Pre-IPO FAQ, these assets are issued independently by third-party dApp providers and integrated into the Binance Wallet interface; Binance Wallet is only a discovery and access interface and has no partnership with, or endorsement of, the providers. The provider named in the page's disclaimer is Prestocks. The Wallet disclaimer at the bottom of the page states that Binance Wallet services are provided by Binance Barbados Limited, involve unregulated third-party services, and are not supervised by the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority or any other regulator.
They track the prices of private companies, giving people price exposure before those companies possibly list. The FAQ stresses it repeatedly: they don't represent equity; they carry no voting rights, dividends or legal ownership; and there's no guarantee the company will ever list.
The official route in the app is Wallet → Markets → Stock Hub: filter for Pre-IPO below the search bar, open an asset, and buy it with the Wallet's Swap. If you can't see the Pre-IPO category, the FAQ tells you to update the app to the latest version first, then check whether your region is supported; which companies are listed is up to the providers and will change.
What matters most for SpaceX is what happens after the listing. The FAQ's rules: you don't have to wait for a listing to exit, since the tokens can be sold on the secondary market 24/7; when the company lists or is acquired, the underlying position is sold, the net proceeds are converted into USDC, and holders redeem that amount pro rata with their tokens, under the third-party provider's rules.
So if you bought a SpaceX-tracking token in the Wallet's Pre-IPO section before the listing, under the general rules it won't turn into SPCX shares. The rules describe selling the underlying, converting to USDC and redeeming pro rata, and they don't mention converting into SPCXB either. None of the six official pages cited in this article names a SpaceX Pre-IPO token specifically, so timing and redemption price follow the provider's announcements and what your wallet shows.
Why the SPCXx "IPO" never happened
When people talked about the "Binance SpaceX IPO" in June, they mostly meant Binance Wallet's SPCXx IPO campaign. It had IPO in the name, but what you subscribed for wasn't SpaceX stock. The campaign FAQ set it up like this:
- Eligible users submitted subscription intents in Binance Wallet, and a successful allocation would get you SPCXx, an xStocks token issued by Backed that only offers price exposure related to SpaceX and doesn't represent direct ownership of SpaceX shares or carry shareholder rights.
- The price shown during the campaign was only a reference price; the final offering price would be set by the issuer and underwriter after the subscription period, and could be higher or lower than the reference price.
- It used an oversubscription model with pro rata allocation based on the total committed by all participants, so you might get a full allocation, a partial one or nothing at all, with unused funds returned.
- It included a 5% underwriting service fee, charged by the underwriter and not included in the reference price; Binance Wallet charged no separate underwriting service fee.
- The campaign could be delayed, suspended or cancelled because of market, regulatory or underwriting circumstances.
And then it really was cancelled. The cancellation notice of June 12 gave only one line of explanation: due to circumstances beyond its control, the campaign could not proceed. What those circumstances were, Binance didn't say, and we won't guess.
The announcement set out three arrangements for participants:
- Full refund: locked USDC sent back to the Binance Wallet it came from, no action needed, processed in batches, with a target of completing on June 12 itself.
- SPCXB airdrop: $1 million worth of SPCXB split equally among all participating users, sent automatically to spot accounts by 2026-06-18 at the latest, no action needed.
- Pointing to the real shares: the announcement also noted in passing that whole-share limit orders during regular hours could already be placed for SPCX shares on Binance.
SPCXUSDT futures, in brief
SPCXUSDT is a USDⓈ-M perpetual on Binance Futures. It launched as a Pre-IPO perpetual before the listing and was converted into a standard TradFi perpetual once SpaceX listed, with the mark price anchored to an external SPCX reference price. It holds no shares and carries no shareholder rights; you can use leverage and go short, and you'll be liquidated if your margin runs short. We cover how shorting and leverage work separately in can you short stock tokens?
Who can't use them, and how to check whether you can
Each of these products has its own availability, so being able to use one tells you nothing about whether you can use another.
- US persons: bStocks are the most explicit. They aren't offered in the United States, to US persons, or to accounts held for their benefit, and by using them you're deemed to declare that you're not a US person and not in the United States. The other products don't mention US persons word for word on the pages cited here, but that doesn't mean US users can use them; the terms of each product apply.
- SPCXB: trading eligibility is decided by your country or region of residence, and identity verification is required; some countries or regions can't trade it because of local restrictions.
- The rest (SPCX in Binance Stocks, Wallet Pre-IPO, SPCXUSDT): each follows its own product terms and your jurisdiction.
We don't list which countries can use them, and these official pages don't give a fixed list either: for SPCXB it comes down to your country or region of residence plus identity verification, and for Pre-IPO it varies with local regulation. Being able to see a product and place an order in the app only means the platform isn't blocking you right now; it doesn't mean trading is allowed where you are. The bStocks FAQ states that checking whether it's legal locally is the user's own responsibility, and that where Binance determines something may breach local law or eligibility conditions, it can restrict, suspend, refuse, cancel or reverse trades.
Frequently asked questions
How do I buy SpaceX on Binance?
First work out which one you want. If you want to hold actual shares, look at SPCX in Binance Stocks; the launch announcement described whole-share limit orders during regular trading hours. SPCXB, which trades 24/7 in spot, is a bStocks token, not a stock. The SPCXUSDT futures contract gives you price exposure only. Whether you can use any of them depends on where you are and whether your account is eligible; being able to place an order in the app doesn't mean it's allowed where you live, and staying compliant is your own responsibility.
What is SPCXB, and is it the same as SPCX?
No. SPCXB is a bStocks tokenized security issued by BTech Holdings Limited. It isn't a stock, doesn't directly hold SpaceX shares, carries no direct shareholder rights such as voting or dividends, can trade away from the share price, isn't covered by SIPC or FDIC protection, and isn't offered to US persons. SPCX is a real share, executed and held in custody by Alpaca Securities LLC.
Can I still join the Binance SpaceX IPO?
No. Binance Wallet's SPCXx IPO campaign was cancelled in an announcement on 2026-06-12. The announcement said locked USDC would be refunded in full to where it came from, and that $1 million worth of SPCXB would be split equally among all participating users and sent to their spot accounts by 2026-06-18. What that campaign was going to distribute was SPCXx, an xStocks token issued by Backed, not SpaceX shares.
Will the tokens I bought in the Wallet Pre-IPO section before the listing turn into shares?
Under the general rules in Binance Wallet's Pre-IPO FAQ, they don't turn directly into shares. When the company lists or is acquired, the underlying position is sold, the net proceeds are converted to USDC, and holders redeem their pro rata share under the third-party provider's rules. Before that happens, you can also sell on the secondary market. The timing and redemption price for any specific token follow the provider's announcements and what your wallet shows.
Why can't I see SPCXB or Pre-IPO in the app?
Most likely it's down to your region or account eligibility. Eligibility for SPCXB is decided by your country or region of residence, and identity verification is required. If you can't see the Pre-IPO category, Binance suggests updating the app first, then checking whether your region is supported. bStocks are explicitly not offered to US persons. Whether you can use any of these depends on where you are and whether your account is eligible; being able to place an order in the app doesn't mean it's allowed where you live, and staying compliant is your own responsibility.
